Hi, I'm The Rev. Mark Glovin. Officiating at weddings is one of my great joys in ministry; and I would love a chance to talk with you about your wedding ceremony.

I became a Unitarian Universalist minister in 2003 and was called to the First Universalist Church in Rockland in 2005.

I grew up just south of Boston and graduated from Starr King School for the Ministry in 2003 after receiving a call to ministry while attending Clark University, where I majored in philosophy.

I'm inspired by the depth of commitment you're making and touched that your friends and family come to celebrate with you and witness this beautiful moment in your lives.

My Theology of Weddings

I believe that people are there to see you not me.
So, I try to fill the ceremony up with your personality, your stories and your relationship as much as possible.

I am comfortable using a variety of religious language and am not attached to any particular words or metaphors being used in the service. Part of our work is to find the images and tone that make the ceremony most meaningful to you striking the right balance between traditional and new elements.
My role is to facilitate a process that helps you discern what you are saying yes to, what your promises mean and what kind of service reflects those commitments.

I also believe that part of my role is to place to your marriage into a larger context whether that is a religious container or the sacred or your community. One important piece of the ceremony is acknowledging the role of the witnesses: the family and friends who weave the fabric of your community. We'll acknowledge the importance of their presence on your wedding day and into the future.
