Marriage Rights for Everyone

I am so grateful and happy that the Supreme Court has finally recognized the right of all loving committed couples to marry, and I am still proud that Maine was the first state to legalize marriage for same-sex couples by a vote of its citizens.

Believing deeply in every person's right to make a life-long commitment to the person they love, Unitarian Universalists have performed marriage and commitment ceremonies for gay and lesbian folks since the 1970's. I have been proud to wade in the great progressive tradition of my faith by officiating at these ceremonies. I am incredibly excited that I can sign wedding licenses for same-sex couples now. It is a great privilege and honor.
